Meet Joshua Harden

​Memento Mori Law is the estate planning and elder law practice group of Harden Law Office, led by attorney Joshua Harden.

​

Joshua Harden brings more than 20 years of legal experience to Memento Mori Law, helping individuals and families throughout Kansas and Missouri make informed decisions about their futures.

​

A graduate of the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law, Joshua has built a legal career spanning private practice, corporate counsel, and public service. His experience includes serving as a law firm partner, general counsel, and legal advisor on complex legal and financial matters.

​

Before founding Memento Mori Law, Joshua served as General Counsel and Director of Strategic Initiatives at St. Benedict’s Abbey. His professional background also includes positions with Collins & Jones, Dentons/Stinson, and the Missouri Public Service Commission.

​

Today, Joshua applies that experience to helping families protect their loved ones and plan for the future. Through wills, trusts, elder law, and long-term care planning, he provides practical legal guidance tailored to each client’s circumstances.

​

​Based in Shawnee, Kansas, Joshua serves families across Johnson County and the Kansas City area, including Overland Park, Olathe and Lenexa, as well as clients throughout Kansas and Missouri. Consultations are available in person in Shawnee or virtually through Google Meet.

After losing his parents, Joshua saw how thoughtful preparation can give families clarity during difficult times.

Memento mori means “remember that you must die.” For Joshua, this historical and philosophical principle is a reminder to live intentionally and care for the people we love. Read the story behind our name.

​Joshua grew up in rural Hanover, Kansas, and attended high school in Topeka. Having also lived in the greater Kansas City area and Jefferson City, Missouri, he has longstanding ties to communities on both sides of the state line. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and welcomes clients of all faiths and backgrounds.
